Give him The ooh-la-la: the music of Blossom Dearie. 3 minute demo

My show, "Give him the ooh-la-la", celebrates the music and musicianship of Blossom Dearie. I've been greatly influenced by her piano playing, singing and selection of repertoire. Her songs range from the wry to the witty and heartbreaking. Her arrangements and sense of time are impeccable. Songs in the show span her career, from the classic Verve recordings with Ray Brown to her later more pop oriented music, written by herself, Dave Frishberg or Sheldon Hartnick, to name a few.

I perform the show with my trio.  I have taken her arrangements off of her albums, and naturally, since this is jazz, we add our own sense to each song. This is a show of true jazz/cabaret. We have had very appreciative and delighted audiences. Blossom Dearie fans are very devoted and will seek you out if you are playing her music. They know every song! We are looking forward to performing this show in other venues.
